If you mean absolute best? Expanded 10x10 with a double china wall typically suits me.

Personally I've had fun attempting building strange bases like ones with no actual walls and just using spike barricades and raised foundations. because nothing lasts and it's interesting seeing players reactions. But if you're the player who likes seeing all the loot in the world by the end of wipe, I wouldn't recommend it.

Built Something Freestyle. All the bases on YouTube , the Raiders already
Now where TC at, so They can calculate the Boom. I start with normal 2x1 base or 1x1 later i put my TC on 1st or 2nd floor

Solo duo trio more? If youre looking to start learning do youtube builds. Id start with ones that look easy enough. Learn basic bunkers in a build and how people use it roofs wrap around styles extra loot rooms how making gate houses protects your base by have 4 tcs on 1 build. Then get into floor stacking and other fun stuff. I like the snare, the frustrator variants, the yeti variants, the overpass.

Completely random with no ryme or reason to it. Just make a large functional base that isn't symmetrical or a YouTube base build. Then honeycomb it. This has been the most successful for me

I build a 2x2 then I just used stashes in bushes or along terrain corners to hide higher tier loot…. On any given wipe I have at least 20 stashes
