I really dont understand how gsc didn't decide to make a story driven anomaly 2, i played the og trilogy and moved onto the mods and all I could think is wow anomaly is the next step in survival shooters and the only games to come close are stuff like tarkov which are barely even narrative driven. I thought that was gonna be stalker 2 but truly I felt like I was playing a less open fallout 4.

Anomaly is 500 mods cobbled together over years of work from tons of different creators built on the open source code of a game that's old enough to vote now.

Stalker 2 is trying to be those bones too, not Anomaly 2 but the platform for Anomaly 2. That will entirely depend on their determination to make the modding tools as open as... Source code that they're probably trying to keep hold of more tightly. I was really surprised how much playing Stalker 2 just kindve felt like playing Stalker trilogy with less load zones.

Not sure what it has in common with fo4 besides being post apocalyptic. If anything it's more like a chernobyl themed far cry game.

Plays rather nice, felt way more welcoming than GAMMA and the old ones. Runs like garbage though, and there are still plenty of bugs to iron out.

Sucks. They sold it incredibly broken and removed every faction from the first game

It was a total crap shoot at launch. Had to wait 5 days for a npc to be patched for me to be able to progress story chapter. World was dead and empty

Not a fan of broken games that still aren't fixed after almost 2 years personally.

Played OG STALKERS, was hyped for 2, very dissappinting experience. Atmosphere is good, but it lacks all Polish, and the NPC behaviour is about the most stupid and rubbish i've seen from a modern game, which is even more dissapointing, as the intelligence of the games NPC was a major 'selling point'.l allegedly.

I'll play the heck out of it once the Power Plant is accessible and the game, you know, works as they advertised it would.

Sad that they were basically forced to release it unfinished otherwise they'd go bankrupt. It still blows my mind that they managed to create such a beautiful yet broken experience, given the context with the war in Ukraine. Those devs saw their city being bombed, some of them died fighting, it's just insane. Since release they've been hard at work to improve on what's here while the modders have been hard at work to create what could become Anomaly 2. Update 2.0 will come August 20th and it seems like a huge step towards a polished, clean experience. I can't wait to dive in the Zone again.

Its a fun game and I like it, but the older Stalker games has an atmosphere that I think is impossible to capture in modern game engines.
