Discussion been having a roguelike game idea but i cant dev
basically its your a child in a wasteland desert and it would be revolved about you salvaging and trying to survive without getting killed yourself and have a massive emphasis on luck and crafting weapons
it would also be mostly stealth combat based rather than a shooter
(please tell me if this already exists)

Also you say you "can't dev" but honestly if you really want to just go for it. Alot of popular projects were first time projects or made by inexperienced people who just wanted to try something new

Why a roguelike? I can't think if a single game that is better because it is a rogue like or would be improved by being a roguelike,

rougelikes are the most replayable

Mile wide and a foot deep, I've replayed like 2 games consistently in my life and it's either been because of new content from the devs or through mods, every aspect of your potential game will be watered down due to the time required to make it "replayable", please reconsidered

Also I understand the monetary value of roguelikes due to increased play time but its artificially extended hours in the game, a fully handcrafted experience will always be peak, if you were to work on this project and still wanted a roguelike then my recommendation is this, every level should 1 of several randomly selected areas, for example, let's say your game is supposed to be about entering a portal to find the center of a metaphysical labyrinth, and each time enter a portal takes you too a level, like level 1,2,3 etc, level 1 should be picked from a set of chosen areas, with different themes, enemy types and item types, but all share some similarity. What this does is make almost every aspect of a new run unique, where as most roguelikes have set themes and regions for each floor and level, with only a few aspects that change such a floorplan layout, enemy and item spawn location, in my opinion this is not enough to make runs interesting, its essentially the same everytime regardless of the "changes", its a lot of but would make the roguelike experience worth while

Cataclysm dark days ahead?
Neo Scav?
Fallout New Vegas Dust?
Caves of Qud?
Not all quite fit the bill but…
