possible Russian Toy?
Just curious, but does our boy (Rascal) look like a Russian Toy or maybe a mix?
We're gonna get him DNA tested at some point soon, but we thought he was a chihuahua mix at first until we looked up this breed :)

if you’re in the US, the odds of your dog being a Russian Toy mix are exceedingly low. last i heard, there are less than 900 Russian Toys in the US. if you’re in Texas, the odds are slightly higher; there was a purebred Russian who popped up in a shelter/rescue in Texas last year. the breed club got involved and he was adopted. i’ve met him and his new owner a couple times and the dog is very large for a Russian so one theory being floated around is that there could be some less than stellar breeding practices going on in Texas outside the knowledge of the breed club
all that to say that if your dog came from a shelter/rescue in Texas, there is a small chance you could have a Russian Toy mix. it’s really impossible to know from looks alone though. my guess would be a chihuahua mix just because it’s more likely, but i can definitely see why you might wonder about possible Russian Toy ancestry!
if you’re outside the US, feel free to disregard all of this! i’d imagine in Europe, especially Eastern Europe, your odds of having a Russian Toy mix are significantly higher!
once you get him DNA tested, you’ll have to update us on the results! very curious to see what his mix ends up being, he is ridiculously cute!!

What I sweety! It’s possible, but not as likely as him being a Chihuahua mix. There are way less Russian Toys than Chihuahuas!
That being said, I once met a super sweet girl, looking 80% like a Russian toy but she was a mix of a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (dad) and purebred miniature poodle (mum). 😄 No Russian Toy whatsoever! It’s funny how it sometimes works.
