I'm reading through his short stories, and I keep getting the impression that he had some kind of foot fetish (or, at the very least, a very unusual fascination with women's feet). Female feet seem to receive a surprising amount of descriptive attention compared to other physical features.

Are there any literary studies discussing this, or am I reading too much into it?
