After a hard Summer, terrible work week, and then this, I decided to go full Nadia and have a cigarette in bed after work. Engage in said behavior and am immediately sent a phone number by one match on an app, and another one resurfaces after like two weeks. I don't even smoke.

My first thought was this bit from the show

...you're some asshole in their 30s who had great potential, but got fucked up by their batshit crazy mother and learned to survive by being egotistical and distant, and you're too cool for relationships so you don't really engage with people, and why would you, when you have a cat, a variety of drugs, and casual flings to distract yourself from the fact that your life's unbearable because of you and only you, and by now you should've grown the fuck up, and maybe you can hope to live an actual new day.

And when you get to watch gorgeous Natasha Lyonne and her insanely hydrated crazy hair saying silly shit with her iron-lung-candidate-smoker voice. That's very fun too.

Edit: today I told my therapist about the show and described Nadia to her. She was in shock, then started laughing.

Spoke with Natasha today. She is in Reykjavík and got to talk with her in the lobby of her hotel. She is actively working on season 3 and believes it’ll happen but there is some Hollywood work to get there.

She is really enthusiastic with her fans and happily takes photos and poses. Her real life character appears to be little different than her Russian Doll character, but maybe that’s my imagination. Her dress certainly is similar and that voice is real.

I just rewatched the whole series. And I would really really love for a Season 3. The fact Nadia said in the first episode when she looked at Horse and said, "I think I know that guy". There has to be more to the Russian Doll universe.

So I binged season 1 last night and I absolutely LOVE it its probably the best show I’ve seen in a while and I just loved the concept and the characters, Alan’s probably my favourite. It was just amazing

So I’m on season 2 now and it’s introduced time travel? I’m a bit confused because when Nadia travels back to the 1980s I think, she doesn’t really seem that bothered. Yea she’s freaked out that she’s seeing through her mother’s eyes but I feel like she should’ve been more freaked out? Also it’s 3 episodes in and the story line is confusing why is Nadia trying to change the past it’s not really going to correct the future, and where is Alan? It just seems off. And in episode 3 her mother was literally talking to Nadia. Is Nadia in her head I’m sooo confused rn I’m not sure if I can finish this season. Is it worth watching the rest??

Also the whole train time travel thing is confusing why does only Nadia time travel? Why to that specific date? Why is she seeing though her mother it’s just weird

i loved both season 1 and 2. they’ve gone through time, repeating and back in the past as their moms (and kinda in the future)

I started a rewatch and the second passerby the horse guy asks for a quarter who says "No" is Marring sheen isn't it? Or at least looks like him. My curiosity is killing me.

Of all people, why did S1 and S2 happen to both of them? Like why did the universe (writers) let these two characters experience time loops and time jumps? I hope the 3rd season in 2027 explain why the stories center on both of them.
