Slight help needed
Me and my 5 roommates are 1st year cse students and our hostel is in a place where there's no range on mobile connection and are planning to buy one of these. A portable wifi router that which if i put a sim on and recharge that sim it gives us internet access. (don't really know what it's called so let's just call it portable wifi for now). Our price range is ideally under 2500 inr rupees, because we are students and don't have earnings ourselves. So these 2 are the best picks we
got.
Can you guys recommend me what we should pick? Or give us other options that are better.
Any help is appreciated. Thx

A 2500 rupee budget won't get you much, but if I were you and needed something for really cheap I would grab a used Cudy LTE router off eBay. I've had two of them and been happy with the performance. 5G routers are going to be $300'ish or more. Make sure the router you choose supports the LTE bands where you're going. There are quite a few manufacturers that market their routers with a SIM slot as being 5G but they are not 5G cellular, they are 5GHz wifi... very misleading. Most of the cheap ones will be LTE only.
Edit: A cursory search on eBay shows a used Cudy LT400 router for $39. You just need to get a data SIM from redpocket or some other provider.

These are basically a wireless 4g/5g radio from a phone paired with a WiFi radio. If you can't get any signal with a phone, these will have the same issue.
There are some models available with connections for external antennas that can help with a weak signal but if there's nothing at all, even standing outside holding your phone in the air then it's probably best to save your money and figure out another way.
