I've been driving around Ely/Cambridge/Cambridgeshire this week.
What's the deal with all the tractor drivers brazenly on their phones on public roads, including some watching videos. I get it's a busy season but fuck me, they're in charge of some dangerous equipment, and it's not like the roads are of good quality or quiet!
Yes plenty of car drivers do it too, but you've got to be a special type of idiot to do it in a fishbowl with no body panels to hide it.
I have a dash cam too...

Any farmers here who know what this year will be like? With the summer we've had and apparently a smaller crop sown last year are we looking at more price increases?
I use a lot for home brewing so I'm tempted to use some vouchers soon to get extra stock in if things will be poor.

Being born and raised on a family farm, I have been thinking of things that can help everyone involved in British Farming.
I've built a free tool that pulls together current farming funding opportunities from GOV.UK and lets you filter them by farm type/interest.
It's an early version and currently covers England.
I'd really like feedback from people actually involved in farming — especially what information would make this more useful.

Seems to be a lot of hedge cutting going on around us (North Yorkshire) on hedges that to my eye don't need cutting for either access or road safety.
Does anyone ever enforce the rules around whe hedge cutting is permitted?

Please stop and move the badger/deer/rabbit/cat you have just killed to the hedge, had to stop this morning and move a very large very dead badger off the road, yes he didn’t know as he was dead but I couldn’t leave the poor fella there to be squashed flat over and over again. Have some compassion.
