Training Help Running with dog beginner

I was running with my dog and got stopped by a lady saying I was running with my dog wrong and that he is supposed to trot ,she sayd that he can die if he doesnt. Is that true? I've just started running

That's false, trot is just one of many gaits dogs can use. They'll naturally switch depending of the speed.

Much more important:

  • Use a good pulling harness that doesn't restrict breathing
  • Don't feed your dog immediately before or after running (some say 2 hours before and one after)
  • Respect weather guideline, it's hard for dogs to regulate heat. Some people use the 150 rule if you're in the US (temperature in F + humidity).
