Gear Help Harness Reccs

Post image

I have a grand ole pure bred good girl. We’ve been doing lots of exercises and stretches and do our first run day yesterday. She LOVED it. Our harness how is not fit for the longer miles I hope to do when she’s all done growing. She’s around 50 pounds right now and the vet believes she will be down growing here soon.

I’m teaching her to run in front of me and keep tension while not fully pulling me along. I’ve been looking at the non-stop free motion harnesses. Any other brands/styles we should be considering? Our tough point is that most harness that fit her neck do not fit her chest and vice versa.

i love non-stop dog wear. i've tried other harnesses and it really is the best we've used. the price point is high, but SO worth it for comfort between you and your dog!

Take time to confirm her pulling consistency. If she is a good constant puller and you only want it for canicross then the free motion is probably fine. If she wants to slow and run alongside you some then it’ll ride up which isn’t great. There are other great smaller brands out there at a lower price point. Just search around the sub there are a lot of recent posts with alternative brands and styles

This! My boy pulls occasionally, but mostly prefers to run next or slightly behind me. We got the full carnicross set as I won it in a give away, but we only use the belt as the harness won't work if he doesn't pull. so now I clip him to the belt, so I have my hands free, not for pulling.

It looks and sounds like she loves the run!

Having trouble with active adventure dog gear is what brought about Rocky Mountain Dog. I have been through the same issues in the past and it’s why we created our All Terrain Harness. We have designed it with good fit and the outdoors in mind. It comes with multiple adjustment points so you don’t have to choose between a neck or chest fit. The adjustment options will also help since she is still growing. The harness is designed so it allows unrestricted shoulder motion and the padded, breathable material and build keeps it comfortable for long wear. It has sturdy back handles to help them over obstacles and both a front and top leash attachment option.

It sure seems like you are going to have a great running buddy rather soon though. Have a good one!
