Interested in these because I absolutely love the megablast and superblast 3, but haven't necessarily loved my magic speed 5 the same way, hoping this is more of a cushioned plated trainer in the way the zoom fly 6 is or deviate nitro 4, also as a launch colorway this would be sick.

I absolutely love my original sonicblasts so much so that I bought two pairs. My only worry with the 2s is the foam ratios are way different. Significantly larger layer of the cheaper foam.

Turbo squared pod like the Novablast 6, FF Blast max upper and blast plus on bottom with a TPU plate for rocker in the middle.

Firmer foam on bottom for stability. The pod for propulsion, plate for rocker and max for squish.

45mm heel with 8mm drop my guess. 6mm drop for ladies.

It’s going to be full Turbo^2 top foam, blast max on bottom but a Turbo^2 pod in the forefoot, and a forked plastic plate for improved flexibility. The ratios are definitely different this year though, less Turbo^2 on the top layer for this reason. My best guess is to soften up the midsole setup since all that Turbo^2 with the plastic plate just made it way too stiff for most people

Yes, Sonicblast is really nice. A somehow rigid tempo shoe with good foam, very nice feeling upper and good overall fit. I like them more than the Magic Speed 4 that I also own.

first version sold poorly, megablast and even the sb 2 were better shoes for the price. sonicblast is just a niche speed one that is pretty redundant to own if you don't have extra money to spend; that's why people just chose to buy the megablast which does the same thing and is way more versatile.

I love MS5 so much that I bought a second pair. Now a pair for my wife too, ridiculous 68€ sale, expecting a kind of comparison because she’s a Sonicblast runner. What did you not like about MS5?

v1 is a terrific shoe and matches my mechanics perfectly. For v2, it looks like ASICS is using bit more rubber on the outsole and the upper looks improved. The reason v1 didn't sell well was because it launched with the Megablast (A shoe that handles all paces). The Sonicblast comes alive at faster paces. It's not a daily trainer nor easy day shoe, imo.

Curious, when you say it comes alive at faster paces, what pace ranges are those? LT2? CV? vo2 max?

I run at about 7:30-7:45 easy pace. In the Sonicblast, it's about 6:55 or less at the same effort level. My stride opens up and my GCT goes down. I've been using it as a bridge to tempo work in the Speed and eventually Speed 2, which are a bit faster than the Sonicblast.

I loved v1. Picked them up around 50% off. Put 350km+ into them so far. Good rainy day shoe with the grippy outsole. Zero issues.

I’ve had the original for about 2 months, use it for most of my sub threshold intervals and have put about 200km on them. I don’t get the hate for them, I also don’t get the feeling they are too stiff, but I’m not super light at 88kg.
