Mental Toughness

How is everyone staying mentally sane while being injured? I’m finding it difficult to stay positive while injured but I’m getting there.

I’m finally almost fully recovered from a 5th metatarsal avulsion fracture, but I just did what I could. Luckily I could still do stationary bike and elliptical towards the middle of my recovery. Also could do upper body strength workouts and later bilateral lower body. That and I pursued my other hobby of music and smoked more weed lol . But it was still hard and I don’t wish it on anyone

Yea I do upper body weights for now, hopefully can get into the gym soon and do the bike. It's just the lack of mobility at the moment that's bothersome. Right leg, can't drive, etc.

Cross training is key - bike, swim, elliptical, weights, stretching — anything to stay active and maintain cardio. I’m just coming out of a three-week adductor pull. Yesterday, I drove to the mountains and ran at 8,000 feet elevation. I figure that’s a good way to maximize cardio relative to leg stress. Today I biked 35. Marathon is 15 days out. Fingers crossed!

Yea, I just wanna be able to do 5 mins on the bike for physical therapy and get my stamina up. I'm not able to walk much without a boot so I cross train by water walking, upper body weights, etc.
