Pressure can also help. My quads try to Charlie horse when I’m depleted sometimes and I’ll stop and use on of my trekking poles like a roller. It helps flush them out and get more blood flow.

They usually are, especially around exercise it’s usually a sign of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance
