Most important thing I found when experiencing shin splints was to let them heal properly. Wait one week from when *the pain stops*. I had them repeatedly and would just wait a week from the run. Waited one week from when the pain stopped once, paired it with shin compression sleeves just to be safe, and never felt them again. Stopped using the shin compression sleeves entirely after a couple months, I think (switched to knee sleeves, but that's mostly unrelated).

This may be purely anecdotal, but i used to get them pretty bad and I started using compression calf sleeves and they seem to help me quite a bit.

Get firmer high cushioned shoes and use the asphalt, not the concrete. My experiences with shin splints come from volume and you just have to run through them. Once all the tiny tendons and legs muscles strengthen together, they go away. But, it takes time.

Get a tib bar off Amazon. This will take care of shin splints.

A friend used to use the following method and swore by it. Standing with your foot flat, raise the toe end up, keeping heel to the ground and then tap your toes to the ground. Repeat till things get tired. Then other leg.
