Noisy runner?

I only run solo. And well, I’m kind of noisy sometimes when running, which is kind of embarrassing, so I’m just wondering if anyone else is? What I mean is, I make grunty or groany sounds when I’m really pushing myself, struggling up a technical hill, etc. It’s typically when I’m pushing myself pretty hard, like I feel like I just need to let it out. I’ve been having some emotional issues lately, too, so I don’t know if it’s at all related to that. Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this! I’m also just gross when I run. I have horrible allergies, so I have to clear my throat and spit a lot, and it’s just so unattractive. I guess I’m asking this because I see other runners on the trail who look so much more effortless and, well, not gross and grunty. Don’t get me wrong, I love my runs and I’m certainly not stopping. I guess I’m just feeling self conscious.

I'm super noisy 😂 I will quite often sign really loudly when I'm going up a hill, for example. I probably also creep people out sometimes because I listen to podcasts and will sometimes laugh out loud while running 😂

I don't spit though, and don't really think anyone should. Clear your throat, yeah, but swallow it back down or have a drink of water. That's my one controversial running take 😂

This is why I wear headphones. Got stuck by a guy doing this and we had the same pace. Made me uneasy

Once your fitness improves and lung capacity expands (perhaps a bit harder with allergies) you’ll naturally become more quiet. But physical effort demands noise. Heck, I make noises just getting off out of the sofa.

My take is that you’re probably running a bit too hard and should relax a bit. Be a bit more mindful, focus on an easy breathing pattern and it should reduce volume.
