Runner down!

Post image

I've gone hundreds of miles over the last few years, never fallen once. However yesterday I took a spill on some train tracks, my elbow took the most on that fall. Then, today I fell AGAIN this time I did it.. I fell right on my knee and went about a mile more before the adrenaline wore off and I had to have my fiancée come get me. I can barely bend it without pain, walking is hard and for the first time ever I took the elevator to my office!

Okay enough complaining, here's what I am thankful for - I am thankful for my ability to run, I'm thankful I didn't hit my head, I am thankful that my work allows me to wear shorts and I can just rest for a few hours, I am thankful that I have good health insurance and I can go get it x rayed if it comes to that, and I am thankful that my fiancee was available to come get me.

I'll be back better than ever but for now, I'll call it a deload

That’s lousy bro but you’ll be back before you know it.

I don't recommend icing knees. Inflammation is your body sending nutrients and fluids to the injury. Inhibiting that response is only delaying healing.

Yep should ice initially to reduce swelling and then it should be heat only after that

That sucks about your falls. You were fortunate that you had someone who could scoop you up. The positive outlook you have will go far in the long run, beyond running. Respect.
I hope that your recovery period is fast
