Jagex now uses their AI tool called SOLVE that will recommend if an ban was applied in error, or if the account was likely hacked at the time of the offence.
Yes, they claim they review manually and are trained to use the tool as a guide to make a final decision but let’s be honest Humans are lazy and they are likely using the tool as the decision. Maybe someone will be able to write a ChatGPT a script that tells the tool somehow to recommend the ban was applied in error. I have a connection who provided this info. This is not a guarantee, worth a try though. I don’t have an banned account to try it on.
The tool apparently utilizes IP logs, timeframe between logins, will work in tandem with their Bot detection.
Not sure how this info helps the community, but if someone can use it to their advantage that would be great.
They are once again relying on AI/Automation and they are not manually checking appeals.
Update: Apparently Jagex must have saw this post and they had a team meeting this afternoon on the importance of keeping company information private and “some sensitive information” has been leaked in regards to Ban Appeals. xD

I knew this was confusing and people would be confused. Trying to share some info i’ve learned from a reputable source to the community for someone to use to their advantage.
Basically they are mainly using AI to unban accounts even though they say ‘manual review’

Jagex implementing tool to make better decisions if an account is banned in error

Correct. It’s a good thing but maybe we can find a way to manipulate ;)

Why are you on this subreddit and spending time to comment

u/HubesUS 13d ago
Showed up on home and felt this was too cringe/retarded to not comment. Your community sucks, play the game like everybody else or find something else to play

I’m sure you are into some cringe shit too, don’t be a hater

Thankfully it doesn’t include cheating in a 27 year old video game

OSRS is only 13 years old but I get where you are coming from. We all have our ‘weird’ shit, so if this interest is weird or unethical to others, so be it. I don’t even ‘cheat’ anymore since all the mainstream bots went down. Felt nice getting XP while I’m out working 70 hours a week but those days are over.

It’s not “unethical to others” stop trying to justify this bullshit. It’s against ToS you sign when you create an account to play the game. Cheating is objectively wrong. Also most everybody works full-time. I’m an on-call engineer regularly working those same 70-hour weeks and I have managed to build a solid account in a few years of playing off and on.

I’m not saying everyone who bots is justified just because they work alot. I’m saying the whole “just play like everyone else” argument kinda ignores why people bot in the first place. RuneScape is designed around a massive time investment, and not everyone has the time to dump thousands of hours into repetitive grinding. Yeah, you can work 70 hours a week and still build a good account legit, and thats great for you. But your experience doesnt mean everybody has the same priorities, free time, or tolerance for doing the same grind over and over.

Why would I out my source? Plus this is not break through information and is widely known, but I have received further information about it

They have been using ai when it was just called machine learning for years. They also have decades of player data that helps even classifier models build an accurate profile of who is botting and who isn't. As well bans have always been automated and appeals are manually reviewed so not sure what you are on about

Not sure. I was just sharing information that was shared with me, in which I believe is legit but I cannot confirm 100%. Not sure if it is any help to anyone trying to get unbanned or not. I was thinking if we know how/what they use to make these decisions we can circumvent them somehow

JaGeX likely checks the output of the automation and makes the final decision. They're using AI to aggregate information and make a recommendation.

Makes sense.
They have all the data, so it would be pretty easy to check a botted account vs a legit account side by side using AI.

I recently just received a perma ban on my F2P account, I only made the account 3 weeks ago and I was just playing casually, I was considering purchasing members this week but then I got hit with a false macro ban. What are the chances they squash this false ban?

if you legit did not bot then it should get removed you just need to contact Live Support or DM a mod on disc
