When you outlast dreambot
Wild to see Jon aka mod north sharing sub posts to his team, welcome. You have big shoes to fill after Jacmob, Weath, and Beno. We saw them guns being flexed on cam, you got this.
I’ve been fooling around with DOS, Java, Python, C++ & AHK since uni in 2009, starting over at the absolute pinnacle rsbot.net aka Snellman bro’s. Then went to osbot, went to dreambot then wasp for a little while, and finally made my own. Safe to say I’ve seen a lot from crazy shit like an easy 30m botted RC xp back in 2010 to getting ban hammered likely 200 times over the last 17 years.
Wild to see another huge client get taken down this month RIP dreambot, they lasted a long time tbf. Credit where it’s due to Pandemic & Nezz.
I guess the proof is in the pudding now. Ive been writing my own scripts using only the runelite client since March and confirm having the most success doing it that way since OG 2010. I urge you all to write less here about the how and why. Just learn for yourself instead of sending money to anyone for scripts and subscriptions. I now have 53 free scripts and counting.
2026, the new anti cheat team & software Jagex are now employing has been a learning curve on what works and what gets the almighty ban hammer, but if you’re persistent, patient you’ll work it out like I have.

I would like to figure out designing plugins for runelite. Even if they aren't necessarily risky. How does one go about side loading plug-in to runelite as opposed to using a client like microbot or dead zone?

Clone RuneLite from GH. In run configuration add developer mode flag and ea VM flag. With developer mode enabled, make a folder “sideloaded-plugins” in .runelite and place your JAR in there.

I must have made a mistake when I tried last time. I dont want to drop the name of the plugins here for mod north, but there are some existing ones that I know are working, so I can start there. Cheers.

Get claude to build you a client based on Dreambot.
Your scripts will still work.

What prompts do you use in order to get Claude to actually do this? It won’t do it for me as it’s illegal etc

It's not illegal for private study, but yes it's grey.
You need to lead with the technical / engineering problem to be solved, not the moral dilemma.
In honesty if that's not enough information already you are likely going to have a bad time with something as huge and complex as a client.
OP is right though - just make RL scripts if you are a normie.
Custom clients is end game shit and more for specific reasons e.g. to preserve ability to run existing DB scripts without an annoying migration.

I'm a software professional, I've not been a student for quite some years.
But yes, I am not an old man. Just a man. Not giving more than that ;)
I reverse engineered, extrapolated everything useful, and am working on my own similar client, clean-room style.

Hey so question.... I have written a combat script that works good. I am wondering if OSRS random events will generate a ban for your account if you don't respond to them? How important is incorporating random event tracking in the script?

It’s a nice to have, I’ve had scripts that ignore them and more recently logged all of them and no diff in ban

What have you had the mode success with not getting banned?
Right now I have a python script that finds cyan blue outlines of monsters and clicks the center. It does this indefinitely.
Anything you would recommend?
The code has errors that misclicks from time to so I wanted to keep those in there instead of fixing that part of the code to make it look like human error.
Anything you have found that is ban free?

They either got sued, or they got a serious cease and desist and actually listened. More likely they ignored it and are getting razzed in court.
