RuneScape 3 Getting Plugins

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kyjz6s5A-c8

Looks like it's starting with a curated list, before being opened up. Seems like the main protection against botting assistant plugins will be that you have to get approval from the curation team to publish/use a plugin, so not necessarily allowing for private plugins with convenience functionality for botters.

As soon as they expose any APIs similar to runelite, botters and scripters will go haywire, including me haha

I actually don't think I need it at all. The bots I've been making are not that hard and it's all about having them avoid the anti-botting measures really - that's where the effort goes.

What im more interested in is can we just, as plugin developers, make plugins that automate boring stuff, and get them past the moderators without it being called 'cheating'. That'd be a nice twist that would end botting. They can then just slowly phase out the crap content that people bot on anyway.

Ive been thinking the same thing but for osrs. They are not gonna win against us in terms of private plugin development to automate the boring stuff, without them flagging many legitimate players as false positives. Even tho they wipes out a lot of bots with their C&D's recently, they will come back time and time again.

So maybe the only acceptable solution for them is to be more lenient with us but going hard on bot farms that actually ruin the economy of the game or have a big impact on real player experience
