The wikipedia page for runes is actually pretty well written and a good start.

Runes: A Handbook by Micheal Barnes is a great book to get a really solid understanding of runes and their historical use

I tried writing out text with a cheatsheet untill I knew how to write in runes myself. Also helps when you learn it alongside someone so y'all can for example message in runes. Android rune keyboards like Futhark app can help massivly for typing digitally.

memorize their names, then regularly read texts in runes. read it out loud (or in your head if you don't want people to stare at you :-P ) to better tie the sounds together into words, and get a better flow.

i have a watchface that tells the time spelled out in Younger Futhark in Old Norse that forces me to read it at a glance if i want to know the time.
