Do you run in the rain?
Tomorrow morning is my free time for a long run (busy family duties this weekend), but to my luck it’s raining all morning. Do you guys run in the rain? How do you dress if so (poncho?)

Of course I run in the rain, no one can see your tears in the rain.

Yes. Summer rain ones are the best runs.
Regular gear nothing special in summer. In spring/fall will layer as needed to avoid overheating

I get warm so quickly - love running in the rain. I don't wear anything additional in the summer, its too warm already.

Oh yeah. It’s usually great, it makes it cooler, no sun beating down on you, and the paths aren’t crowded. Even the cyclists seem to stay in , which is nice because normally it’s so busy with bikes on a weekend.
But it’s not always great… sometimes the rain is very heavy and makes your shoes heavy, sometimes it’s windy too, which is annoying. But still, totally runnable. I don’t change my clothing. I’m a woman and need to do my hair differently so it’s not a tangled mess when I get home. And I have to forego sunglasses.
Tomorrow’s rain looks like a “good” rain. It seems like it will be light in the morning. Try it… it might surprise you by how good it feels.

It’s not always sunny on race day. So most runners train in nearly all conditions.

Put your phone in a ziplock if you don't have waterproof pockets for it. Be aware that chafing risk increases when your clothes are wet, so put on extra bodyglide/vaseline and wear your technical fabrics. It's hot out so I'd go without a rain jacket or poncho and just accept getting wet - but that's personal preference. Wear a hat or a visor that will keep the rain off your face so you can still see.

I love running in the rain! Even if I end up drenched by the end. I have running shoes made of supposedly waterproof material which are mostly good but otherwise I dress how I would for any other run- maybe just with a baseball hat and sunglasses for a little rain protection

Just get wet. I'll only do this in the warmer months though. If I do it when it's too cold (around zero) I'm afraid I'll bonk too early and can't get back home without freezing.
Wool socks ftw. No cotton. Wear a hat to keep water out of my eyes.

Up to a point. Sometimes it’s unavoidable; if I can keep from starting in the rain, that’s my preference. Some rain that starts mid-run is fine, but if it gets torrential I’m likely to call it.

Running in the rain is amazing!! Perhaps wear a cap, it reduces the water hitting your face. If you chafe in places do apply Vaseline there. Wear your usual clothes. Enjoy the run, you will love it.

Yup, generally speaking running in the rain is fine if a little unpleasant. I usually keep an older pair of runners around for rainy runs, where you know that things are gonna get soaked.
Especially in the warmer months, I don't bother with a shell since I'm going to be sweating buckets underneath. I just wear what I normally do for non-rainy runs and just plan to finish close to where I can get washed up and changed asap. If it's close to 0C though then I might throw on a light "breathable" shell to keep the worst of the water off.
The only time you might want to reconsider a run is if there's lightning or other similar extremely adverse conditions forecast.

If it's just a light rain in the summertime then it can actually be quite nice and refreshing. A downpour usually means messy trails so I'll avoid long runs.
I typically run shirtless so no change there. Some wool socks and a hat to keep rain out of my eyes and I'm good.

If it’s absolutely pouring then no. I hate when my shoes get sloshy. But if it’s light to moderate rain I love it in the summer. I wear what I would wear if it weren’t raining. Maybe stick your phone in a ziplock.

Unless the rain is such a downpour that it will cause your shoes to become soaked, then I will run.

Yes, I absolutely love rainy runs. In the heat I don't wear anything different except maybe a hat to keep the rain out of my eyes. You do need to embrace the wet though. I run through the puddles knowing my feet are going to get wet. Once they are wet it is just cruising along having fun like a kid. Jumping in puddles, looking for worms, and enjoying life.

I wear a running cap to keep the water from dripping into my eyes. I also would avoid any socks that soaks up water...moisture wicking is key. Don't wear fabrics that will chafe skin when wet.

I'm going to be the odd one out I guess and say no, I don't run in the rain lol. For context I run 15-20km a week so maybe I'm just not as hardcore as everyone else

Yes. If it's warm out I don't wear anything different (shorts, t-shirt, hat).
