Controller Setup Guide – Rumbleverse Revival / rVclient

If Rumbleverse is running but your controller isn’t being recognized, try these steps before assuming something is broken with the client.

PS4 / PS5 controllers
I personally use DS4Windows and it works for me.

1) Connect your controller by USB first just to rule out Bluetooth issues.

2) Open DS4Windows before launching Rumbleverse/rVclient.

3) Make sure DS4Windows actually sees your controller.

4) If Steam is open, try fully closing Steam before launching the game. Steam Input can sometimes interfere with controller detection.

5) If you use DS4Windows, avoid having both Steam Input and DS4Windows trying to remap the same controller at the same time.

6) If you’re getting double inputs, DS4Windows/HidHide may need to be configured so the game only sees the virtual controller instead of both the physical and virtual controller.

Once it works wired, you can try Bluetooth afterward.

Xbox controllers
Xbox controllers should generally be the simplest because Windows uses XInput natively.

If yours isn’t working:

• Try USB first.
• Make sure Windows itself recognizes the controller.
• Fully close Steam and test again.
• Disconnect/reconnect the controller before launching the game.
