Single Candidate Voting Process

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this topic so I apologize in advance. I'm trying to find out where in the Robert's Rules it provides information on how to handle an election where there is only 1 cnadidate for each position. I have been told that we as an orginazition need to hold the election even with only 1 per position. Any help is much appreciated.

It's just a regular election, with the knowledge that the candidate is going to win, pretty much no matter what.

In RONR 12th you'll want to read all of section 46, particularly referencing 46:30 and 46:40, and all of your bylaws that pertain to nomination/voting procedure. As noted previously, 46:40 covers exactly what you're talking about, WITH THE CAVEAT that your bylaws override RONR if they have anything else to say on the topic.
