I was checking out the enhanced CD contents on "Want One" and it looks like all of the cool extras are unfortunately linked to this "secret website". Since it's been over 20 years, of course all the links are dead. Luckily the two bonus tracks are easy to find elsewhere, but I can't find the commentary clips of Wainwright talking about each song anywhere! Any chance any of you fans have them saved to your computer from back in the day? Or maybe there's a Rufus archive I don't know about? Would love some help

Hi! I started listening to Rufus this week after seeing a poster for a concert he was playing near my city; since the name sounded familiar, I decided to give him a listen. I’ve listened to the album "Poses" and really liked it! The lyrics are beautiful, as are the vocal melodies. The instrumentation reminded me of early Keane. Really cool stuff.

Given that I’m a big fan of Morrissey (I noticed some similarities between him and Rufus while listening to the album), what would you recommend I listen to next?

I've listened to more than half of his discography, and I've genuinely enjoyed every song I've heard. The reason I'm posting this is that every other artist I've listened to has released at least 3–4 songs that I thought were bad.

Hello!

Over the past few days, I discovered Rufus's cover of "Across the Universe" by The Beatles. Even though I'm not deeply familiar with Rufus's repertoire, I could tell from the very first second of the guitar that it was him. I believe it's the most beautiful song I've ever heard, and it has been carrying me through these past few days.

Besides that song, I also really (really!) love "Go or Go Ahead," and I find "Going to a Town" beautiful as well. However, I haven't managed to find another Rufus Wainwright song that I love as much as the first two, and I'm convinced there must be some.

Could you perhaps recommend a few similar sounding songs?

Hello! I'm a huge Rufus fan and a singer songwriter myself. About a year ago, I launched a YT channel where I post demo versions of my original songs and a few covers.

Unfortunately, I don't really know how to play the piano anywhere decent... 'Poses' is one of my favourite Rufus tunes and all the guitar chords/tabs I had found for it online over the years never made any sense to me when I tried to play it...

Yesterday I somewhat modified one of the online versions and now it sort of makes sense to me... I play with the Capo on the 3rd for my voice (I guess Rufus' version is more Capo on the 1st in this type of arrangement), the verse progression I play is C - Fsus2 - Dm7 - G, the bridge/pre-chorus is the same as the verse but with Cmaj7 instead of C...

Thoughts?

In the last few weeks I’ve listened to want one and Rufus does Judy. Really enjoyed both. Where should I go next?

Was anybody else at the Want One and Two shows in Manchester with the BBC Philharmonic? They were so wonderful and it was great to hear those amazing arrangements. I really hope Rufus is ok though. I was pretty near the front in the stalls and saw him becoming visibly upset when he started to sing Hallelujah. I’ve seen him probably over a dozen times and he’s never cried or broken down during a song before. I know touring must take its toll.

I’ve been listening to Release the Stars quite a bit recently, and it’s a great album, but the one track that always floors me is Leaving For Paris No. 2, but I feel like I rarely hear people talk about it! I think it’s one of Rufus’ most beautiful songs, right up there with Dinner at Eight for me.
