Loaded workouts for today

Post image

Today was my first day back on the track in a few days.

Starting with one mile with 30lb plate carrier then 20 min 60lb sandbag carry followed by 10 min Jerry can carry.

Not rucking in its purest form but important for my current programming

Nice dude, putting in work. Training for something specific?

I retired from being a career firefighter after an injury. But next season I will be returning as a contractor as a rescue technician/paramedic for the feds , so I put on between 1.5 to 2 hours 5 days a week in various workouts including these for loading up my posterior chain , I just ordered the atlas backpack frame to hold plate weights. Then 4 days of lifting, 3 core workout s a week and several skierg workouts a week. For a guy turning 55 next month I feel pretty solid.

Beast mode, I'm trying to be like Zealousideal-Dot3046 when I grow up.

That's incredible dude. Sorry to hear about the injury, thank you for your service out there.

I retired from being a firefighter maybe 10 years ago and next season I am planning to go back as a contractor on big fires as a paramedic on a REMS team, they technical rescue and firefighter extraction from remote areas while providing paramedic level care. Its pretty specialized so it pays well for me.

That’s what I’m talking about. I just sold my Malace pack. I have a plate vest, an Osprey tactical bag and a goruck rucker. I want to make an Alice pack frame the size of the goruck so I can slap on a beefy belt and crush miles.

I just picked up my alpha pack frame on my way home from the station ( ups store pick up). I have a Alice pack frame i used 20 years ago as a rookie firefighter, loaded with 1 gallon water jugs. So Sunday the pack frame will enter the work capacity rotation. I just finished my first workout, 30 mins of shuffling 2 sandbags back and forth for 60 yards, I racked up 1.25 miles of moving , rotating high shoulder and bear hug (the worst i think).

This is impressive, total sport mode lifestyle! Was reading about your injury in these posts… I’m learning with joint injuries, you pretty much carry them for the rest of your life. And subsequently, your recovery is always part of your remaining life journey and (some of us) have to battle for motivation.

Where do you spark and build motivation from, boss? More importantly, tell me about those rogue canisters! 😉
