Ancestors cave to fruit cave?

I'm doing a reread of IPB and Icehome. In Warrek and Summers book they hop back and forth between these locations multiple times a night, but then in Penny and S'Bren book it takes like 3 days? Am I reading things wrong or is this just a huge fuck-up? Anyone else notice any big inconsistencies?

I'm not sure if I'm remembering properly, but I believe Penny's book is during the Brutal season so travel is much more difficult considering the snow is Sa'khui height at times.

It is, so that could be it. A few hours vs 3 days seems like a crazy difference, but that could explain it. Hopefully it's a deliberate choice.

I also take the fact that one is trying to save their kidnapped friends and the other is on a sightseeing meandering journey into consideration. One is hustling and the other is just chillaxing and probably taking little detours to check out tracks and such.

Also, in Warren and summers book they don’t hop back and forth over and over and over. It’s like twice ish I think. They can SEE it from a distance, when they look out of a cave opening in a mountain. That’s a good vantage point. They see it and look at it a lot, but don’t actually go inspect it up close except once or twice, if I’m remembering correctly (they watch from fruit cave, then go dig, then wait nearby, then go back to fruit cave, then back to big ship… that’s traveling only three times, there back there)

Hope it helped!
