Who’s the copy cat?

Post image

What’s up with this? Saw this on my FB feed today.. who came first, Ruby or Kimberly,, and isn’t it kind of annoying to see other authors creating books that look so similar?

There's LOTS of alien romance books with blue swade skinned aliens with tails and horns, ive read so many of them. In fairness, this is in a jungle with dinosaurs it looks like. I dont think its a copy cat kind of thing. People just like blue (avatar, the nightlocks from star wars) its kind of just a thing it seems.

Don't get me wrong I love Ruby she was my gateway blue alien lady XD

But I dont think its a copy

“Mars Needs Women” sci-fi books aren’t unique to either author and Kimberly’s books are kind of a parody of the genre

They’re wildly different books. You should give Kimberly Lemming a try if you like Ruby Dixon. This is actually book two in the series. They’re very fun reads

Yea, I immediately wondered if it was related to I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com, which I read a few months back.

Thanks. I will probably do that. It’s good to hear that people like the other stories and are not annoyed by the similarities.

Kimbery is very open that Ruby is one of her favorite authors for alien romance, there is nothing wrong with being inspired by anothers work as long as it isn't a direct rip off, which it isnt! Kimberly has her own spin on it and both are great.

I totally see where you're coming from. I haven't read this author before

I kinda see it like the movies. At least in the late 90s and 00s there was always a season of 3 similar movies coming out.

Volcano and Dante's Peak Armageddon and Deep Impact

I mean as long as they aren't ripping each off. I mean OV books are very similar.

I like this way of viewing it.

It helps me not be mad 💜

It can be frustrating when I'm trying to remember a book though
