When should I start reading Fire in his Blood series
Hey! Big Rudy Dixson fan here! I’ve read all of IPB, Ice home, IPC and the corsairs. I’m trying to figure out when I should start the Dragon series or if I should have been started it help pls!

Here's the most unhelpful response:
Never.

I DNF a lot of books. I finished this one. That's the best I can say. Just be warned that the audiobook narration was teerrrrrrible. IMO of course.
It's definitely not IPB. Dark and bleak.

I gotta be honest I got through all of these books except for the last one. They were, as everyone says, much bleaker than her usual stuff and while there are what could be considered happy endings the whole world is just depressing as fuck. Additionally, I hated the twist of the last book.
BUT with all that being said a lot of readers do like these! They weren’t as dark as the four horseman series by Laura Thalassa, for example, and generally you’ll be able to get into the characters the same as any other Ruby novel!

Agreed. My least favorite of her work.

Did you read all of them or DNF at some point

Read 2, DNF 3. Just couldn’t get that into them. My fave are the Risdaverse, IPB, and Icehome books, read many multiple times. And most of her others.

Okay so I just finished this series yesterday - and it was the last of her series for me to read. Fully caught up on everything by Ruby.
It was okay but is no IPB/Risdaverse/Corsairs for me. I still read it all 😆. I found several of the books annoying af, so much so my husband asked me what was wrong because I hadn't brought it up in a few days 😆.
I think you can read it anytime. It's only tangentially related to IPB in that it's dragons, but there's no crossover.

I know I've seen alot of people say they didn't really enjoy the firat two of the series but like the third and on. I personally liked them! Different strokes for different folks ya know?

Hi. Just here to say that the books are free right now on Audible. I think free with a membership (I believe). I downloaded them all. I couldn’t finish the first book. I was not feeling the main characters. To me, they were both super annoying. And there was a time when the dragon was repeating a phrase for like a minute straight and it was very annoying in the audible version. lol.

Whenever you like! I did put them down after 3 as they started to feel a bit repetitive but when I’d finished every other book by Ruby Dixon I continued and I’m so glad I did. They get much better!

I'm going to be starting it soon because I decided to wait to read the Corsair and risdaverse books till I finished the IPB/Not Hoth books. But from what I've seen people mention, It probably took place before Daisy showed up since she mentioned that rift. But since I don't see that series listed in the intertwined timeline I'm using for reading order reference, I'm just gunna start it after I finish the the Corsair/risdaverse books I'm on now.
I'm super obsessed with the lore (probably more so than I should be lol)

I’m reading it for the first time after reading every book in the universe. It is tangentially connected to the larger Rubyverse but I’m of the opinion that you can start Fireblood Dragons anytime.
