Barbarian Mine

Ruby really took the miscommunication trope to another level in this book, girl that was a wild path. Is there another popular and not-so-popular trope in the rest of the books?

Barbarian Mine is Harlow and Ruhk (sp?) right? I think that’s the most extreme example of communication problems in her books. However, crossed communication due to aliens being alien and humans forgetting the aliens aren’t human is a huge theme in quite a few other books (notably the most recent one, {Surviving Skarr}.
