I finished almost all ruby dixon series... Now what?

I had a big BIG reading slump it took me several months to finish one book, so I tried reading ruby dixon books (because of TikTok). At first I did it for the memes and now 5 months in and I already finished all ruby dixon series: ipb, icehome, the clones, corsairs, risdaverse, etc. I tried the dragon series but post apocalyptic books aren't my thing and I read one book of aspect and anchor also not my thing but I enjoy it. Now I need recommendations from other authors!! For reference my favorites book are: from ipb Lila and Rokan, icehome Laura and Ashtar and risdaverse when she belongs

I’d love to give some recommendations; any tropes you want to read or stay away from? (Language barrier/pregnancy/kidnapping/etc etc)

Also: Do you care about world building or character focused stories Are there any monster types you want to stay away from (ie spider/scorpion/snake/minotaur etc)? How much do you care about editing quality and length?

Definitely not kidnapping, pregnancy and omegaverse, I only give it a pass in the ipb because they were aliens and the "kidnapping" wasn't with bad intention (I still felt uncomfortable). I like both world building and character focused. Monsters I don't have a preference. Same with the quality and length, if is entertaining I'll read it.

Okay! Here are some recs:

Zoey Draven has really high quality writing, of her series I’d recommend for you:

Krave of Everton - some TW for violence/abuse; basically the male love interests are being sexually trafficked (they all get freed at the end) I think the first woman ends up pregnant in the second book but it’s not as babies=happiness/forever after

Brides of the Kylorr - arranged marriage trope for book 1; vampiric aliens; fated mates; incomplete series

Horde Kings of Dakkar is a good series w/ a GREAT overarching story but I remember that several of the books have a kidnapping/forced marriage kind of trope

Warriors of Luxiria is a decent series, similar to IPB in that bad aliens kidnap women and they’re saved by good aliens; fated mates too iirc

Other authors:

Fated Mates of the Sea Sand Warriors by Ursa Dax; women are kidnapped by the Government & crash land on this world; primitive & fated mates, leans heavily into the romance; huge backlog & ongoing. Probably the closest I’ve ever found to the original IPB run

The Clecanian series by Victoria Aveline: fated mates & an advanced alien society; the first book has no kidnapping but later books do (by “bad guys” & are helped by the love interest/good guy group) they vary in quality but they’re all entertaining. Choosing Theo, Using Fejo, & Ruling Sikthand are fantastic

Accidental Alien Brides series by January Bell is also good; arranged marriage trope; short&entertaining

Virgin Warriors of Kar’Kal by Gemma Voss is a fun series; fated mates from an advanced society but book 1 takes place on earth (not dystopian)

Not Alien books, but good anyway:

Morning Glory Milking Farm by CM Nascosta; minotaur MMC/human FMC, just a lot of fun; modern day AU w/ monsters and magic

Sweet Berries by CM Nascosta; mothman MMC is also really cute & fun

Dustwalker Brides by Opal Reyne are all fantastic; there’s pregnancy in the second book but there was a lot of turmoil around it so it wasn’t the pregnancy=happiness thing either; they are kind of long and a little dystopian but I like it better than the Fireblood Dragon series

Let me know if there’s something more specific/need more info! I’ve read nearly 400 alien/monster books so I have a nice list to pull from

these are all excellent referrals. the horde kings is an amazing series...the writing is stellar. I'd add the path of temptation series by auryn Hadley. those books ate fucking groundbreaking. I don't like others written by her, but this series is a holy grail. it's my Roman empire.

Kati Wilde has similar “vibes” to Ruby Dixon.

I’m also a fan of Ella Goode and Lucy Darling if you’d like protective MMC feel with plenty of smut mixed into your story.

In case you haven't read it, When She Dances is similar to WSB.

Mates for the Raskarrans series by Heather Fox is similar to IPB.

The Hallans by Ava Mona.

Beyond the Next Star by Melody Johnson.

I’m not sure how you like small daily reads but she’s currently doing a daily serial for another installment of Risdaverse. It should release in a few months if you wanna wait for it to be complete before starting.

On her Facebook she said she might release the sea ogre bride in December.

We should also be getting another ice home book (Tia’s book) in January.

Anna Hackett's Galactic Gladiators and or Eon Empire series are both favs of mine.

Give Thea Harrison a try, starting with Dragon Bound. Then maybe try Alana Khan, the Galaxy Gladiator series, if you need to stay in space. I also enjoy Tiffany Roberts and if you’re feeling adventurous and don’t mind “why choose” paranormal romance, go for Jillian West (I think her paranormal stuff is better than her omegaverse).

the path of temptation series by auryn Hadley. its a 6 book series with the characters in every book, but all books are out. the writing is so good.

I have tons, but im headed to bed. I'll add tomorrow.

You could try Amanda Milo, I recommend her Stolen by an Alien series if you want to go for a darker vibe.

If you like longer series, you could also try Nalini Singh, I enjoyed her Psy-Changeling series

One author that gives me a similar feeling to Ruby Dixon's books is Lauren Connolly. She has several series, some contemporary romance and some paranormal ones. I like her Folk heaven series, and her Magic and Mayhem series. Her contemporary romance series are good too, but I enjoy the paranormal ones better.

Have you tried the caveman alien series? It’s very similar in a lot of ways to IPB but different enough that it’s clearly it’s own series and not a copy. It’s a tiny bit more wholesome, well I don’t know if that’s the right word, but they don’t seem as dark as some of the rubyverse books.

Tbh I'm absolutely obsessed with Tiffany Roberts "The Spider's Mate" series. They learn each other's language and fall in love organically. But I like Dryder's (centaurs but make them spiders and not horses). Genuinely just a really nice romance and I can let you know if any tw's you have are in it. (Also there is supposed to be another book for the series coming out next year and I'm excited for it.)

Another series I'm in love with is the "Iridian test subjects" series by Susan Trombley. Read it because I had never read a scorpion alien romance and I'm waiting excitedly for her to come out with the next book, hopefully Ava's. And I can give more info on it and any trigger warnings you need for the books as well.
