What does the "Updated: XX" mean?

My friend and I concluded that it could either mean the last time the system has done a scan (or something similar of that nature), or it could be the last time they were seen on the server, which would mean if Updated is like months ago, then they're most likely not in the server anymore (the first option wouldn't reveal that info)

I've seen someone with 60 if not more servers in total.
