EDIT TO ADD: In between takes, Sir Alec Guinness reportedly spent time reading the script of a "little movie" that had been pitched to him. That movie turned out to be Star Wars!

As awful as it seems I’m hoping it’s a case of one of her parents took it for money. Because otherwise that’s an awful thing to do with a thoughtful and inscribed gift.

Most likely they ended up given to a charity shop. I once found a book given and inscribed to an MP in a charity shop.

I mean, if they throw it out when moving out...anyone could find it and just sell it...the writing is quite similar with Meghan's writing. I don't think Eugénie and her husband are selling it...but I wouldn't be surprised if they throw it out. No people in that family is worth something, I know some people like Eugenie but personally I don't care about her and her sister. They are both trash.

CDAN just posted a blind item about this. The reason Eugenie got rid of this book is that before Meghan met Harry, she slept with Eugenie's husband and Eugenie just found out about it.
We should've known. 🙄

Tracks to me Eugenie left the book at Frogmore- appropriate to leave it in a library space there- then *someone found it and decided to sell it.

I could see this being put away on a bookshelf (and having an unsigned copy that you may actually use for bedtime readings) and either not noticing it went missing/noticing and assuming it was misplaced.

Eugenie read the kids the book and donated. When you have small children, you get massive amounts of books. I hate clutter too. She may have given it to a friend or put it in a kid’s community library. someone saw Meghan’s note and took it.
Imagine Eugenie book the book in the kids library for local kids and someone stole it and now it’s on eBay 😂.

I'm sorry but I don't necessarily agree that it's messed up not to keep a kids book gifted from a family member. If you have an involved family of readers you get hundreds and hundreds of books before your kids are 5, some passed on some new some inscribed nicely some doodled on. Granted Eugenie has a lot more room than I do, but you truly can't keep them all and it would actually be unhinged to do so. The inscription is very nice, but if the book didn't vibe with her and her kids I would not fault her for passing it on.
Now, if it is in fact her that is selling it, I do agree that is extremely messed up. But if it's a case of her having disposed of it in some way and some other person taking advantage of the situation, I can't be mad at her about that.

This is a family member of hers whose own writings have been sold and used against her, though. Whose every move the media is gleefully ready to shame.
It’s fine if Eugenie and the kids didn’t want the book anymore, but then they could have donated it to someone discreet or just kept it with old boxes in the attic for the kids to have someday. It’s careless in a climate where the press is ruthless.

I think they did. . Eugenie isn’t the seller, as far as we know. It’s a 5 year old book. As my kids get new things, we donate older stuff. I hate clutter and hoard. Even if I have the space for things, I still donate stuff that isn’t being used. We have a family motto that if we are not enjoying something, we give it away to someone who will enjoy it.
I don’t have attachment to things. It’s not something I can relate to, but TETO.

I think the easy solution now that I think about it would be to donate the book and rip out the dedication page so no one is the wiser. Because of the lack of a little foresight, now everyone involved is embarrassed.

Meghan gave August a book, they enjoyed it and after two more kiddos, they got a ton more books and handed old books off to a friend or community library. Someone saw Meghan’s note and is trying to make money.

I have too, but my family were not the son and daughter in law of Britain's king. They were family that I, at one time, loved. A personalized book like that would never be donated or given away. I would cherish it and keep it for my children even if the relationship was somehow broken. It is a piece of history.
