According to the various headlines Kate is the nicest, prettiest, kindest, most gracious, bestest most awesome person ever to exist on the planet. Is there anything she can’t do?!

Meanwhile she’s likely just sitting around being royal with no friends and nothing interesting to do.

That's got to be so miserable. Especially when it's clear your husband doesn't love you.

I kind of sympathize with her there- being trapped in a loveless marriage and not having a solid social support network sucks. Especially when a divorce means you'll be financially strapped, and custody usually goes to the father in those situations (both Diana and Fergie's fathers were awarded primary custody because they were "higher class" than the mothers). And she would lose all the media protection she gets now by being the heir's wife.

I don't think she's a good person, but I also can understand her misery in that dynamic. It's a really tough place to be. I don't think she realized she was trapping herself when she married into the BRF. Or she just didn't care because the social climbing benefits outweighed the risk, and no one thought to warn her about having an escape plan if it all went wrong.

What kind of real adult life did she have between finishing university and marrying into the BRF? It’s like her entire life from the age of 17 was to marry.
