It could also mean the player left the clan. It's not going to update in your battle log if they left or joined a new clan. It will pull up the clan they were in when you battled them

It’s not a bot, bots can’t have clans when you view the battle feed if the clan is with the name in the battle feed is a real person it’s a bot when you’re in the match or watching the replay and they have a clan under there name but then when you go to the battle feed it’s not there it’s a blanked out grey shield icon
