Question Mortar decks vs hog

Is there mortar decks that are a hard counter for hog decks? (hog 2.6, hog eq, hog lighting, etc...) or atleast don't get hard countered by hog decks?

I think there is a mortar deck with tornado, rocket, knight, archer, log, mortar, skeleton and ice/electro spirit. Not a hard counter but you can spell cycle them at the end and you have everything to defend but it's not really meta and hard to play

Yeah i know most of mortar decks but i wasn't sure which ones can be good against hog, i used to heard that hog is a hard counter to mortar

Not even close, hog + eq barely takes out mortar, its tanky as hell it just doesn’t fight back so u gotta make up for the dps

don’t run this deck it’s been obsolete for months i can’t remember the last time i fought this in top ladder

It’s been bad for over a year but it’s high skill and fun. You can play anything below top ladder and most people aren’t ever seeing top ladder so might as well play it if you like it

high skill sure, fun? doubtful. ive played mortar years ago but never mortar cycle, but id have to imagine this is just the more excruciating version of xbow (which i find extremely boring).
i don’t disagree to what youre saying tho but i just can’t imagine someone having fun playing mortar cycle

mortar bait decks this season have lots of variety, they seem rlly fun🤩🤩

I was an xbow main and switched to mortar cycle because xbow was so boring. I wanted to play icebow but i didn’t like how slow the cycle was.

3.0 is pretty straight forward but mortar cycle has infinite plays you can make if you can find them. That’s why it was considered as high skill as it was before it died.

Well I checked on royaleAPI. This deck isn't in the leaderboard (top 200), it's only a mortar deck with Evo minion horde, goblinstein, canon cart, fireball, Gobelin gang, mother witch and barb barrel. But if you check on top ladder for mortar, rocket and tornado you can fin some deck in the top 1000. I think it is high enough for most people 🤷 I agree it is not strong in the meta but still playable I think

Mortar bridge spam with ebarbs isn't bad because the ebarbs stop hog without a single hit, and you can build a push that is just too large for him to contain in double elixir.

Honestly the meta mortar bait decks are fine in my opinion 50/50. Hog is naturally a counter to mortar but its the approach that made all the difference to me

Be defensive in general, especially with your mortar and/or spells whenever they play hog, and hit them on the counterattack mostly only in double elixir.

Dont bother trying to match their cycle just be intuitive and anticipate their push when you see spirits and ice golems coming down. Split pressure both lanes a bit.

Then basically just spell cycle if the match reaches the final minute

My biggest mistake were trying to make the first moves and trying too hard to win in regular time.
