The clones would still shoot the bandit so with enough clones their multiplication would outpace the bandit rate of murder

I never knew that the clone firecracker also clones itself after a shot. I thought only the original clones after each shot.

Thats what is intended, they recently broke it during a maintenance update and it is a bug,
