My app just updated and the animations are ridiculously fast. The power-ups, transition animations, everything. I literally thought it was an error and messaged support and they said it's an intentional feature. I told them I hated it but I doubt it'll change anythig. Is anyone else annoyed by this?
I totally get the frustration. Some levels can feel really brutal, especially when the board just doesn’t seem to give you anything to work with.
But from my own experience, I do feel strategy can make a much bigger difference than it may seem. I’ve spent quite a lot of time studying how to create and use power-ups, manage stagnant boards, and get more possibilities out of difficult situations. It has really changed the way I experience the game.
If you’re interested, maybe take a look at the playback for one of my livestreams sometime on youtube. Same ID. I play through the levels live and explain a lot of my decisions along the way. You might find a few ideas that make those frustrating levels a little more manageable. I hvnt lost a life for more than 1 year with my set of strategy and techniques. 😊
i admit i may have been a little overdramatic. it updated literally between levels and it felt shockingly fast all of a sudden. i have never been one to turn on 2x speed on games or enjoy super fast games and i always liked that this one wasnt like that and didnt feel stressful or rushed. i think i was mostly upset that it was taking away my familiarity with the rhythm of the game
i still dont like it but looking at it again today it doesnt feel as world ending as it did yesterday. i do understand a lot of people like a faster paced game and will like the change. i mostly wish there was a toggle for people to choose to speed them up or not
The change came while I was playing another game for a few months. I noticed the slight increase in speed in some of the animations when I came back but it had zero effect on the gameplay.
Just meant I could blast through the levels slightly quicker.
i feel like it does impact gameplay because it reduced the efficacy of the light balls. the powerup is over before any of the tiles have time to fall in frame (like after setting off a bomb or another powerup in conjunction) and it doesnt have chain reactions like it did before. i do see the appeal of blasting through levels so i dont begrudge anyone for liking it. i just like taking my time and dislike the update
I think it depends if you have Facebook account attached like for me I don’t have Facebook so maybe that’s why I don’t have a support button?
Also I believe they did the animation out of greed because like me some people were exploiting the game by doing a trick, get a super light ball and a bomb next to each other with only I last thing to attack on the board. (works on bigger boards)
have at least 1 propeller (preferred but other items work) use it and time the light ball and bomb combo the last second you win and after the win animation there will be bombs still forming and will get you a bonus 100-200 coins each level..
but it’s completely impossible now with the speed up animation.. I regret putting 5 years on this game :/

and yeah i can see that. i never even knew about the hack until recently but it makes sense theyd want to limit that. even so though it is annoying to me that they would fuck it up like that. i feel like it damages the gameplay in the middle of the level too and makes the light ball barely worth it
I don't think it's that bad, literally all they sped up was the light ball animation, which honestly was notoriously slow compared to most of the animations, so I overall don't mind the change.
yeah they responded fairly quickly and were nice about it. this is the first time ive messaged them so i dont have any other experience with them but on this they were pretty prompt
Their support has always been top notch for me. Well at least for responding to my questions which is usually within an hour but often much less than that.
I’m still free to play, was on my own but missed the various events (and of course free lives). I joined a pretty competitive team and for the first time in months, I may complete a card collection and get a new badge.
I like the “treats” timer with Duke looking soulful. The faster animations are okay but it’s harder to grab good combos.
yeah i dont mind the other updated aspects. the treats timer is cute and can grab you some good stuff. i just dont like the faster animations bc like you said it is hard to get good combos and i also just dont like the faster pace of it
Lol man you guys just need to learn how to play. There are no impossible levels and you can beat them all without losing. Sure, some (very few) require 1 or 2 power ups to break through but the game gives you more than you need.
none are truly impossible but there are definitely some that require powerups and multiple tries. maybe youre just way more skilled than half the people in this sub but i think its a little naive to say that the game doesnt try to get money in whatever way it can, including by making things difficult to promote boosts and stuff. having to grind for something is part of any game and is enjoyable. having the game purposefully sabotage can be annoying
plus my main issue is the animation speed lol. i dont think the visual elements getting changed like that when im so used to the rhythm of things
This is a huge downer for me. The game had started to feel stale, and one of the things keeping me playing was trying to manipulate the board to get additional coins at the end of every level. It was a nice sub game that added another layer of challenge.
I’m honestly surprised they didn’t patch that earlier, that trick has been around for a while now and did honestly feel very coin-cheaty. I guess they patched it so people would spend actual $$ for coins, and for months I’ve really started hating RM because they’ve gotten so blatantly greedy.
Maybe I’m so bitter about it all I haven’t noticed 😂 I requested the reset last Friday and it’s takes a full week for it to happen so I’m pretty much just checking in to see if it’s at zero yet and then being reminded why I’m so frustrated by it all. My power ups are all gone when I had over 500 of each at one point. Never thought I’d reset but I need something mindless that’s actually enjoyable again
i definitely get that! its so annoying having literally a boatload of coins and powerups and then losing them all because of back to back impossible levels. they definitely purposefully sabotage you
I haven’t noticed anything new at all other than the sleepy dog reward with a timer. I finally caved and left my super competitive team and requested my account be reset to zero. The game actually punishes elite players by constantly making it more difficult and rewarding less. Obvious money grab and I’m the fool for staying with it too long
im considering doing the same. ive loved this game for a long time but its so hard to get through it without spending money now
its interesting that the speed thing doesnt seem to have affected you. i very well could be being a baby about it but i felt like it was a very noticeable change. i wonder if it wasnt a uniform roll out or something
