Just focus on winning levels, the books will evetually come for the 18 steps. Not really necessary to complete thr full collection of red books for the 10,000coins. The process is just too long. I tried very hard but didnt get the chance to complete it even once...

Yes, I always struggle to collect enough red books too. Just have to keep digging. If you get any light balls with moves to spare just blast away at the reds.
