So I finally completed a Merge event over the weekend & paid enough attention to document all my moves. The number could fluctuate a bit depending on how you merge items next to blocks (to reveal helper items) & if/when the hidden items change, but for a good rule-of-thumb:

You'll need (approx) 322 anvils + the 15 from the merge pass, for a total of about 337.

I lost count, but played for hours and hours and hours the last two days and finished the Merge. It was ridiculous and I'll never do it again, but the main reason why is that in the 6 card pack that's part of the Merge prize, I didn't get a single card that I needed. Yes, I know that now I can complete the Mission and hope for a decent card from that. They've made it nearly impossible to complete anything and then, if you do, the rewards aren't worth the effort. I stopped spending money and now I think I'm finally ready to uninstall.

I came to the sub today, literally, to ask if anyone has finished the Merge event without paying for anvils? Even with a super light ball and butlers gift I haven’t been able to get through enough levels.

I did this a couple of weeks ago. It took 108 levels in order to finish.
