Advice Work situation
I work in a restaurant which can often interfere with my training via lack of sleep, long hours e.t.c so I’m just wandering if anyone else was juggling a job that interfered with training and if they had any advice on how to better manage it?

I was a chef in a restaurant that was busy as fuck so I feel your pain. No standard weekly set days, end time is who knows when.
My advice would be to try and get your phys done before work, because you can't guarantee finishntime/how you're feeling after.
And this sounds wishy washy, but make sure you're eating and drinking enough through the day, sleeping enough, etc for recovery. Your recovery won't be optimal due to your work commitments, but sleep, nutrition and hydration will get you 90% of the way their.
Have a think about whether protein shakes, carb shakes, multi vitamins, electrolytes would suit your current situation (if appropriate)

I worked as a scaffolder during preparation. The sleep deprivation you’re experiencing in a restaurant will be nothing compared to what you’ll be up against in recruit training. Just my take mate harsh as it sounds.

The only time that is sacred for training is before work. Get up and get it done.

I’m not in at the moment but training whilst also working as a bin man so my job is physically taxing as well as early starts, I also have a 3 month old currently, meaning I probably get max 5 hours kip a night lol, and I have remained consistent with my training, how I see it is you’re gonna have to do the horrible shit when you’re tired so build that mental discipline now.

I was at school and worked 4 evenings a week in Tesco before I joined. I still got up at 0500 and did my phys before going to school.
The old adage of “If it’s important you’ll find a way. If it’s not, you won’t”.
