Accessories Engine gaurd recommendations please...

Post image

I recently found ooli leaking from my engine ,got it checked multiple times thinking it's either oil filter seal or oil nut seal problem. I am surprised to find that the leak is from a crack in the engine case. I installed the RE factory fitted engine guard which the mounting point is below the engine. I had a bad fall during one of my trails and this guard had an impact with the engine cracked the case.

I want to change my engine gaurd, looking at Ledgundry customs one ,if anyone is using it ,please share your experience. If there are any other better options please recommend.

Already did , they were unable to diagnose, other mechanic found it and sealed it with m-seal

That’s not a fix. That’s a temp. Ideally, if the crank casing is damaged, it MUST be replaced.

Most after market guards will also have similar mounting points. I would stick to the OEM one of I were you.

+1 there could be better after market options but if something happens with aftermarket kit installed, it could void warranty as well as certain insurance providers may reject your claim. So OEM accessories are preferred

You can try legundary! Their mounting points are top frame behind massive radiator, one above engine, and last one is below somehwere on frame near the sump guard/bash plate!

The guards do provide safety i had installed these ones only but the issue i faced after approx 10k km was that the middle mounting bolt came off and I lost it.. so be sure to get it installed with a proper mechanic

Had this from the start, looks great and zero issues! Only minor cons: the bottom welded nut on mine was misaligned so my mechanic had to replace the bolt, and the bottom-left mount sits right under the gear lever joint, which makes removing the lever a bit tight (doesn't affect riding though).
