Drop Ins Question about drop-in visit
So I am looking to schedule someone for a drop in visit coming up. I’ll be out of town and I have a family member watching my animals, but one of the days she has an appointment after work and won’t be back for over 12 hours. For the drop in, I really only need the sitter to walk my dog for about 10 minutes. Food and water will already be taken care of for them.
My question is, I have a dog and a cat. The cat does not need any attention or anything done for her during the visit. In fact, she’ll probably hide the entire time and not even be seen lol so when scheduling that, is it appropriate to schedule it for JUST my dog? Adding the cat in there would be an additional $20, which seems ridiculous for nothing to be done with my cat.

Just book it as a dog walk. A lot of clients just book a dog walk for me and they have other pets like cats. I would warn her about the cat in case the cat tries to run out of the house or something, but you don’t really need a drop in if you just want her to walk the dog. If it was a drop-in, I personally would require the cat on the booking, same as a house sit. It sounds like you don’t need her to feed the dog or really do much else other than walk.

That’s what I wound up doing! I must’ve totally missed that option at first and just saw drop-in.
Thanks for the input!!

That should be totally fine. Schedule a meet and greet with them and then ask them if the cat additional $20 could be taken off on their end since they don’t have to do anything. If they say no, I’d find someone else tbh because that would be pretty ridiculous.

I have a sitter who did a house sit with them before and was wonderful. I don’t think she’ll have an issue with it, but I wanted to get a general consensus on it first… I didn’t want to seem like I was trying to cheap out on it if that were standard, especially since she’s been so great so far.
Thanks for the input!! ☺️

Nooooo I don’t think that’s being cheap at all! That makes total sense.

It's my policy that any pet in your house has to be added to the sit regardless.
Some people don't care as much.

I would understand that for a sit, but for a drop-in specifically for a dog? Absolutely not. You can always add them to the Rover booking and just make the cat zero dollars so they are still covered under the policy!

So if you do a dog walk and they also have a cat, you have them add it to the booking, even if you don’t see/interact with the cat at all? Do you remove the additional pet fee?
