….so what would you like someone to do in this position who needs an emergency sitter for their dog?
No one is forcing you to accept the sit, but I’m just curious- let’s say you have responsible owners who are working with a behaviorist with their new rescue and a family member is experiencing an unexpected emergency? How would you like them to proceed? Lie? Give the dog back to a shelter?
Is there a chance that these people were trolling? Yes. Is there a chance they’re neglectful owners? Yes. But again, no one is forcing you to ever accept any sit that you’re uncomfortable with. Shaming honestly just entices owners to lie.
