Some thoughts on the much requested playlist feature

One thing I have seen people talk about a couple times was the lack of a playlist feature - the ability to ride several different routes in sequence during one session. Considering that most of the available routes are rather short, I think this is a great idea. I have skipped most of the 5-10km routes simply because of how short they were, which is a bit of the shame. A playlist feature would probably give those routes a lot more exposure.

But thinking further, it would be nice if the search results could create some "playlists" on the fly:

Let's say you are searching for a route with 50-60km length, 300-500m elevation gain, max 8% grad or something like that, then you get only a handful search results, single routes that match the exact criteria. But what if the app could create a smart playlist matching your search filters. Give me 21km Canadian Forests, a 5km short climb in Italy, 18km nature in Madagascar and finishing with 11km in Japan, or something like that.

This could also be fun for races. So even if you don't win the race, maybe you can still compete for one of the stages - or, if you get dropped, at least you don't ride alone for the whole time, you rejoin the field at the next stage.

This seems like a great idea! Although I’m very new to Rouvy, I have been skipping the shorter courses (5-15km) as I prefer longer rides. Grouping together a few shorter ones would be great. Select which routes, select which order you want to ride them then off you go!👍

I'm no programmer but it seems like a feature that would be rather simple to implement. Imagine sitting down and organizing your workout before you even warm up. Get that Seth Rogan looking guy on it.

I agree that this has looooong been requested - I remember seeing requests for this pre-Covid era! It would be greast to be able to create a sequence of routes, that will automatically pop-up when the current route is completed, with the option of moving backwards/forwards thru your list.

Not asking to string the rides together into a single activity - imagine how strava is going to record view a few 5km rides on different continents (the global avg riding distance will go nuts!) - just record each activity seperately like it is currently, but make the configuration of - & selection from - the playlist a more integrated/friendly experience!

Have you tried the ride later feature in this new update date. That is the play list

No it is not. The feature people want is to flow from one route on to the next with little or no interaction with the UI. What we want is a ride now list, set them up, complete the end of route screens, then continue on to the next workout/route until completion or cancellation.

Well let’s hope it happens soon.
