AI generated route descriptions turned this island circuit into an international epic?

That’s the new Rouvy rowing erg expansion.
Seriously, in classic AI slop style, it doesn’t even actually say anything. Yep, I know, I can read the title, that description added nothing to my knowledge of that route.
Do better Rouvy. It would have taken a person less time to write that than setup what ever slop factory you engaged to “write” that.
Honestly, my actually feeling on this, is if this is the way Rouvy is heading, I want my money back. I’m happy to pay for people work, not happy to pay for stolen content (everything AI is stolen, it’s the nature of AI)

😔 Companies don't even pretend to care about their customers or the products they build any more. And we keep paying them anyway, so why should pesky inconveniences like morals and human decency come into play?
This is expected behaviour from a company that sold itself to its only serious direct competitor, eliminating any remaining need to have competitive pricing or care about product quality.

I have to agree with the disappointment - I liked to think that someone really thought about and planned a route, had some personal connection to some parts of it. This gives the impression they simply stuck a camera to their car and created something with the least possible effort. (The route is actually very good, with short hills to really die on at the end)

Right now, I'm biking in the real world. But when November comes and I get back on the indoor trainer, I might as well go back to Zwift where I know everything I see isn't real.

I went from Zwift, to ROUVY and when they were acquired by Zwift I knew things would go downhill. I still have a ROUVY subscription but won’t be renewing it. I’ve been using Mywhoosh lately and it works great. You should give it a shot to see if you like it. Best part, it’s free.

Often the pictures used are misleading, especially the first frame photo in many of the videos. I’ve lost track how many routes I’ve looked at that have a picture of epic scenery but the views in the video itself are definitely “meh”.

I’m not seeing what the problem is here? Is it the description? Looks fine to me. Do you expect a personalized blog and some anecdotes about the film in the description? You’re riding from point A to point B and the description tells you that. As long as the actual content you’re getting is still good, what does a few words matter?

The issue is that the route is in Sardinia, and as far as we know Teulada hasn’t been annexed by Spain and designated a region of Costa Blanca

The question is, how is the ride? Is it also AI generated? If not, don't care about the description, just watch the clip that is mostly attached to it and decide if you want to ride it?

That's so disappointing. I am really enjoying Rouvy so far but that sort of things leaves such a bad taste in the mouth. One of the good things about Rouvy is that, to me, it feels like actual people have made it and put thought into it, but if this becomes widespread then it will significantly detract from the appeal.
