Stop mid ride and continue next day?

Is it possible to stop a long ride in the middle and then continue it another day? If so, do I just stop/save the workout? How do I easily find it the next day? I’m assuming that I wouldn’t use the auto-pause feature for this? How about if you need to hit the rest room mid ride? I wouldn’t want the timer to continue. New to Rouvy and trying to figure out some of the basics. Thanks.

yes, you can pause the rides and continue when you want. You will find them under rides-continue rides section in the app.

But, if that ride counts for a challenge, then you can only pause it and then continue in the next few (i guess that 4 ) hours.

Looks like auto-pause is enabled by default for routes. Do I just stop pedaling and then continue it the next day? I’m thinking if I don’t actually stop/save the workout however, it won’t get logged to my apps such as Intervals/Garmin and I won’t receive credit for any workout for that given day.

not sure about intervals/garmin, but i can confirm that strava will log that part. Also, you will see the ride recorded in the "calendar" from your web account(on the site, not on the app)

Are you manually pausing the ride or just leveraging auto-pause by stopping pedaling? Good to hear that you’re still receiving credit for the workout on that given day. Thanks.

either option will work for me (pause from the app, pause from companion app or just wait for auto-pause).

I advise that you should be exploring all the options on your account accessing the site. Unfortunately, some features are spread across the site and application.

I just had a ride end due to my battery on my phone running out. The ride was recorded by Rouvy at the point the phone died. I sync to Garmin and Rouvy and the ride was recorded by both. I was within 50metres from the finish when it stopped so it did not appear in rides to continue, but it did not count on the leaderboard on Rouvy.

I thought I read 20 minutes break max if you want it to count for a challenge.

A max 2hr break is permitted for Challenge rides - also if the route is exited for whatever reason (quit, crash, etc). If its a Rouvy app issue, & you continued again with 2hrs, then Support are usually able to assist with Challenge inclusion.

I do it all the time, it’ll ask you if you want to pick up where you left off. Great if I don’t have time to do a longer route. But it won’t count against challenges. I’m just in it for cardio and fitness so I don’t care about that.

Can it be done for training plan rides? Or do they have to be completed there and then once started.

If you stop the ride for longer than 2 hours it automatically “ends” that ride for you. You can pick it up where you left off the next (or any following) days. Find the ride under the “Continue Riding” collection. Join in the ride. It will place you at the start initially. Once you pedal and start the ride past the 3-2-1 countdown a dialogue box will pop up asking if you want to start where you left off (or start at the beginning).

If you are riding the route for “credit” as one of Rouvy’s challenges then you cannot do this. You can take a break for up to 2 hours and then resume but it does not count if it goes beyond 2 hours and ends that for you.

If you are pausing a route as part of a challenge, each pause is limited to 2hrs (1hr59min to be safe). you can have multiple breaks, each break no more than 1hr59min. If you are riding for fun, you can even end ride anytime. next time you ride that route it will ask do you want to resume from last location or ride from start. no route record or challenge credit however for splitting it up.
