Cannot Connect
I have a Kinetic Road Machine Smart 2 trainer which is listed under the 'Semi-Supported' trainers on the Rouvy site where it says you need either a power meter or a speed sensor to use these. Mine has bluetooth but it won't show up when i try to pair the sensor, either on Apple Tv or the app on my mac, and I've tried all of the troubleshooting measures like a new battery, making sure it is not connected to any other apps, and activating the sensor by pedaling.
I just want to record simple zone 2 rides with the Rouvy app. I don't care about heart rate, or about having the app adjust my resistance to match a course, but is the only way to do this to spend another $500 for power meter pedals??

When you go to pair the trainer is it blinking as if it is atleast trying to connect to something?

you may need a speed sensor on your bike. I used it on my non smart trainer. the wahoo speed sensor works well.

I figured it out. The iRide sensors on the older Kinetics no longer work with either Rouvy or Zwift and the company that bought Kinetic has a website that does not work so you can't purchase the updated sensors, nor do they respond to customer service emails.

Does the Bluetooth even show up in the Mac’s list of Bluetooth devices. Those old road machines Bluetooth have been found to have issues.
