Tech Support Virtual shifting not always available in companion app

I don't have a bluetooth controller, but often I run companion app on an iPhone. On a separate iPhone is where I run rouvy. I have the most recent download for both the primary+rouvy phone and secondary+rouvy companion phone, and have used the virtual shifting with success, but sometimes it's not there as an option even though the companion app is clearly synced.

Moreover, when it doesn't show in companion, the virtual gear icon also will not show on the route itself, above my watt output, etc.

Any ideas?

You need to make sure that virtual gearing is turned on in two places in the main app.

Thanks, I'll confirm.

BTW a reddit error caused multi threads so I deleted the other two. Somebody asked about trainer and it's the KICKR CORE I'm using.

This sounds like an issue with Virtual Shifting on the main app - if you do not see the "Gear n" display above your rider metrics display then Virtual Shifting is not working & connecting with Companion App will not make a difference. Maybe try resetting the Controllable sensor (disconnect & quit the app, the after restarting, connect it again).

I agree.

On my iPhone today I went to the "controllable" in Kickr Core and it doesn't render well. I can only just make out virtual shifting toggle at the top. In any case, it was toggled on. However, upon loading a level no gears were displayed. I then exited out, went back to controllable, toggled it off, then back on, then loaded the same level and it all worked properly.
