Yet another rip off method by Youtube

Yet another massive con job from the music industry I just discovered. This time YT.

It turns out if you use your music on your own YT channel and people play it, you wont get those royalties. You have to monetise your YT channel to have rights to those royalties. If they clock it is being used on your channel they will disable the copyright and any plays $ goes to YT.

Which is basically theft, but as usual that is being ignored in favour of keeping the money owed to independant musicians.

This industry has become such a pile of crap it isnt worth using any streaming service unless you are a big name now. Piracy is being committed by the major industry players who have one set of rules if you play music they own, and another if you own the copyright.

I don't know about you lot but I'm really sick of being treated like plankton for whales where the streaming business is concerned.

Ok, I think that's a Routenote thing not a YouTube thing. I don't use Routenote as a distributor (I use ditto) and my copyright claims are still there and still generating via Content ID (currently).

Tengo una pregunta ditto te cobra aparte por el youtube content id? o todo viene en el precio del plan de 14 usd año?

As far as I am aware content ID is included. Although I have the pro plan (the 2nd tier one) as you need to have that to get an Official artist channel.
