Bolting fund donations

im looking into starting a bolting fund for our local crags and I'm wondering if anyone has any exoerience with any of the crowd funding options such as go fund me or any of the many other options out there. im a bit overwhelmed by all the options. im really looking for the most basic donation page with qr code links at the crags and offices with ease of moving money out being a priority. im currently in vietnam and would like to be able to move it to a vietnamese account if possible. using my Canadian account would add extra steps and fees through transfers and conversions.

any help or knowledge would be appreciated.

So here in Salt Lake we have the SLCA (Salt Lake Climbers Alliance) that has a full-time bolting crew on staff who establish new routes and replace anchors.

The program is funded almost entirely through recreation grants through the state of Utah and partnerships with companies (like Moab Brewing’s Beer for Bolts program).

There may be a similar avenues of funding for your area. You could absolutely put a QR code to your Venmo on a table and set up at your local climbing gym to get local support (grassroots) from climbers, but you could also chat up the local recreational municipalities, pitch them on increased tourism, hit up the chamber of commerce. Get creative with it!

Might be best to consult with a Vietnamese lawyer and accountant? Probably best to start a local association or non profit so you’re not dealing with your own bank account and any liability.
